Townscape/Capital Projects Manager Cheltenham Borough Council £40,256 - £45,345 per annum 24 month Fixed Term Contract (potential for permanent role) 37 hours per week Are you a successful project or programme manager with experience of managing large capital projects to improve public spaces? We have an interesting and varied opportunity for an experienced project manager to lead a specialist team of urban designers, landscape architects and transport experts to deliver an ambitious range of strategic policy, regeneration and public realm projects across Cheltenham. We are ambitious and have plans to enhance our public spaces, facilitate the delivery of the town’s transport connectivity strategies, meet our climate change challenge and contribute to making our town even more special. Some of our current projects include:  Developing a vision for Cheltenham Town Centre  Developing a new look for Cheltenham High Street with improved paving, street furniture, planting and events space  Introducing multiple additional green spaces across the town centre  An ambitious long-term plan to encourage walking, cycling and public transport Find out more at www.cheltenham.gov.uk/townscape. To help us achieve our objectives we need someone who has a demonstrable track record in project/programme management within a similar environment and also has:  PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification  Experience of successfully leading and managing a team  Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders to agree and deliver a shared vision In return we can offer you a wide variety of experience with which to develop your career in end to end client- side project management from establishing funding, concept definition, supplier sourcing and stakeholder engagement through to project completion.
