MANUFACTURING ENGINEER 1 (ENTRY) (Local Candidates Only) SUMMARY OF POSITION: The manufacturing engineer is responsible for ensuring maximum efficiency of the company's manufacturing processes. The incumbent for this position uses his or her knowledge of design, processes, costs and creativity in order to work together with a team to streamline manufacturing procedure. The manufacturing engineer also works to increase Check-mate's productivity and creates innovative solutions to a variety of problems that may arise during fabrication. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Includes, but may not be limited to the following: Manufacturing Engineer develops technical understanding of all equipment and processes. Manufacturing Engineer develops and documents best operating practices for Check-Mate. Manufacturing Engineer understands customer product requirements and develops process flows to meet standard operating procedures. Manufacturing Engineer designs and iterates manufacturing processes to exceed Check-Mate's quality and cost goals. Manufacturing Engineer specifies and designs machine tooling. Manufacturing Engineer documents machine and process set up data. Manufacturing Engineer supports all shop associates to troubleshoot equipment and processes. Manufacturing Engineer creates 3-D models of tooling, product and machines using Solid Works. Manufacturing Engineer creates dimensional drawings of tooling and product. Manufacturing Engineer performs complex engineering analysis and payback studies for new equipment purchases or upgrades. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Minimum Requirements: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering Practical application of the scientific method for problem solving Project management, cost analysis, statistical analysis, process control – must give specific examples Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively (verbal, written, and electronic) MS Office, 3D modeling experience (SolidWorks or Creo), MathCad, Python programming, CNC machine operation, Robotics exposure Experience with project management and planning Excellent attention to detail and time management Ability to provide feedback both orally and in writing Must be a team player with excellent communication skills.
