Centerline (Windsor) Limited is looking for a self-motivated, reliable individual to fill the position of Mechanical Designer. The purpose of this position is to design automated welding and metal forming tooling and equipment in a 3D modeling environment. This will include but is not limited to fixtures and tooling for resistant spot welded and GMA welded assemblies, robotic end of arm tools. Selection and application of purchased items supporting the process requirements like rotary index tables, drawn arc welders (DAW), sealant/adhesive applicators, monitoring, measuring, error proofing solutions etc. This role will be exposed to products from all CenterLine Divisions (Machinery, Electrodes, Components and SST). RESPONSIBILITIES Work within a flexible design group environment while interfacing with Robot Simulations, Detailing, Controls Design, Project Management and Mechanical Build staff to complete all assigned tasks. Complete accurate 3D designs, generation of BOM's (Bill of Materials) for procurement and manufacturing requirements. Create and/or maintain various documents required to support the design effort including but not limited to: ECR/ECNs, process flow documents, sequence of operations documents, and 2D machine layouts. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A skilled trade designation or mechanical engineering degree or diploma required Previous machine design and/or machine build experience desirable Innovation, creativity, attention to detail and problem solving skills are essential Must be organized, have proven ability to work under tight time constraints as well as the ability to provide reasonable time estimates for task completion. Strong mechanical aptitude, willingness to be "hands on" as required Knowledge of PLM systems and understanding of revision control preferred Intermediate to advanced computer skills 2D & 3D CAD modeling software experience preferred (AutoDesk Inventor, AutoCad) Knowledge of CAD Software APIs to perform CAD operations using iLogic / Visual Basic code an asset Knowledge of software design principles and experience with Visual Studio an asset In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians Act, 2005 and the Ontario Human Rights Code, Centerline Windsor Limited will provide accommodations throughout the recruitment, Selection, and/or assessment process to applicants with disabilities.
