The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe. JOB SUMMARY: CSIS seeks one full-time intern to support the International Security Program (ISP) on administrative issues and general research efforts. Because of the fast-paced work environment, interns should be motivated self-starters that enjoy a wide variety of research, analytic, and logistical task work. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following: Assisting in event planning and staffing. Providing general administrative support to the ISP-G team Assisting with ongoing projects examining functional security issues than span across regions. KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE: Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) from an accredited U.S. institution or equivalent from a non-U.S. institution. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with foreign and security policy research; ability to distill and synthesize information. Ability to work independently.
