The successful candidates will have broad experience in supply chain management, source-to-pay processes and tools; and more targeted experience in category strategy development & implementation, including assessing and managing portfolio risk, spend analytics, market intelligence, competitive sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract formation & execution, supplier relationship & contract management. They will be self-motivated, comfortable leading cross-functional teams, and will bring an ‘enterprise’ approach and experience driving continuous improvement in both pre-award and post-award aspects of supply chain management. This is a fulltime employee position based in our downtown Calgary office. Why we work at Cenovus: Safety as a core value Competitive compensation Flex time Employer paid benefits: health, dental, vision & more Volunteering opportunities Community Investment activities Inclusive work environment Career progression/internal mobility opportunities Company/team building events Responsibilities: Contribute to a work environment that supports a motivated and high-performing team Leverage spend data, external market data, business requirements, and other necessary information to inform category strategies Assess risk and support the development of enterprise category strategies in partnership with budget owners to achieve overall Cenovus objectives Conduct the sourcing and contracting of external goods and services for assigned category(s) in an efficient, effective, and ethical manner Ensure Cenovus is conducting business with financially viable, technically qualified suppliers, who operate within their expertise, and have a proven safety record Collaborate with cross functional teams ensuring approved buying, receiving and transportation channels are leveraged to maximize efficiencies within the supply chain and ensure the goods and/or services are available for business functions consumption Develop negotiation plans and lead negotiations Form, implement and manage commercial agreements Develop and manage relevant key performance indicators and other results-based metrics Manage critical supplier relationships at the enterprise level Qualifications: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Post-secondary Business or Supply Chain degree preferred SCMP certification is considered an asset Financial acumen including the understanding of supplier cost drivers and pricing models Strong analytical skills. Able to solve problems through honest analysis coupled with good judgment; initiative and decision-making abilities Ability to take complex situations and leverage problem solving, communication, and project management skills to present sound recommendations 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Category Management, Agreement Management and Supplier Relationship Management A clear understanding of Canadian Bid Law Periodic field travel requiring the operation of a Cenovus owned or rented vehicle may be required Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM February 24, 2020.
