CASCADES CONTAINERBOARD PACKAGING The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States. Cascades Cascades Containerboard Packaging Mississauga, a division of Cascades Canada ULC, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in the United States and Canada. Cascades Containerboard Packaging is the largest containerboard producer in Canada and is also a major Canadian manufacturer of corrugated products. Roles: Supervise maintenance team as required according to policies and procedures at Cascades (performance, attendance, training, etc …). To ensure the effectiveness and quality of the execution of maintenance work. Provide leadership in the implementation of security policies and environment standards. Make sure that the work is performed safely and in compliance with laws, regulations and policies. Responsibilities: Ensure maintenance and reliability activities follow and are aligned with the Cascades MTC maintenance and reliability procedures. Ongoing consultation with team members to improve work procedures and technical information on the equipment and then forward to the planners. Keep master data accurate. Ensure “Precision Maintenance” processes and procedures are followed, and all documentation is completed including the appropriate sign off. Generate a monthly precision maintenance report, indicating improvements and savings. Participate in the daily production meeting and be prepared to propose changes to the planned work schedule when emergency or break-in work is identified. As necessary, challenge the validity of break in work. Participate in daily “Yellow Filter meeting” Participate in the daily “End of Day meeting” Works with Project Engineering (Cascades CS+) to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for adhering to the Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM) process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets. Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans and ensure installation compliance. Participates in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers. Develops acceptance tests and inspection criteria. Participates in the final check out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications. Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems. Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines an Asset Maintenance Plan that includes: Value-added PM and PdM tasks Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems Provides input to a Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related, and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operation. Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues. To fulfill this responsibility the Reliability Engineer applies: Data analysis techniques that can include: Statistical Process Control Reliability modeling and prediction Fault Tree Analysis Weibull Tree Analysis Six Sigma (6σ) Methodology Root-cause and Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCA, RCFA) Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) Works with Production to perform analysis of assets including: Asset Utilization Overall Equipment Effectiveness Remaining useful life Other parameters that define operating condition, reliability and costs of assets Provides technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel to sustain and improve mill asset reliability and performance. Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions. Develop, maintain, update standard operating procedures Support Stores inventory to develop parts criticallity.
