Carrier Enterprise Canada Logistics Specialist CE is a subsidiary of the largest independent HVAC/R distribution company in the world, Watsco, Inc. CE proudly distributes the Carrier, Bryant and Payne brands of HVAC equipment for the use in Commercial and Residential markets, as well as a full-line of aftermarket parts, supplies, and accessories. CE has over 38 locations across Canada. We are currently accepting internal and external applicants for the position of Logistics Specialist. Reporting to: Executive Vice President Location: Mississauga, ON The Opportunity: Coordinate the flow of inbound and outbound freight while staying abreast of daily priorities and weekly/Monthly transportation targets Ensure carrier compliance with company policies and procedures (Dedicated) Review KPI’s and provide monthly reports to Management Assist with Warehouse a Logistics Projects as they come Communicate with brokers, carriers and the customers to resolve any discrepancies Ad hoc duties as required Prepare Customs / Export documents for all US or other documentation including, but not limited to, PODs, BOL and carrier confirmation Proactively communicate service risks to customers to provide proper resolution Track shipments from pick-up to delivery status to ensure all load requirements are met Dispatch shipments by coordinating with Dedicated Asset Dispatchers, contacting carriers, negotiating needed equipment and price and clearly defining expectations in order to best service the customer and Branches Strong desire to expand knowledge within systems such as SAP and BI Monitor and submit Claims with Carriers Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience 2-4 years logistics experience Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), SAP and Warehouse Managements Systems (WMS) experience Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction Knowledge, experience, or understanding of Canadian customs process The ability to read, prepare, interpret, and understand product shipment information from various order and shipping documents to ensure accuracy and thorough preparation of transportation documents Experience creating and generating reports Solid knowledge of logistics operations related to employees specific area of work, and overall logistics operations Strong communication and customer service skills What we can expect from you: Knowledge of outsourced carriers Ability to use Key Performance Indicators to drive results Fundamental knowledge of key warehousing and inventory management practices Knowledge of transportation appointment, shipment and arrival practices Ability to work effectively or have working knowledge of an ERP (preferably Trend, SAP), EDI and WMS Ability to proactively support external parties i.e. freight forwarders & 3PLs through an improvement plan with respect to operational functions. Participating and actively to develop a corrective action plan through monthly & quarterly metrics reports/scorecards Strong communication skills including effective written, email, and spoken. Including the ability to lead and influence meetings through conference call or Skype with working partners locally or globally in various time zones Knowledge of inventory management, inventory Reconciliation, DC operations management and transportation payables Warehouse Functions and support Load building and route planning Who’s a good fit for this team: HVAC Industry experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and SAP Strong analytical skills Detail-oriented with emphasis on following up in a fast paced environment Interpersonal communication skills, relationship management, and collaboration skills is a must.
