Whether in the home, in the community, at care facilities or one of our clinics, our 1,500 staff are part of the circle of care that is tailored to patient and client needs. Job Summary: The Activity Coordinator assists with organizing and running activities for the residents of the Richmond Care Home (RCH). They operate within the framework of Carefor policies, procedures, standards and quality & risk management. In collaboration with other members of the health care team they work to meet the needs of the residents; to attain an optimal level of independence and well-being. Carefor is committed to providing quality care to its clients twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week. In order to accomplish this, you will be expected to be available to work every second (2nd) weekend. You may be asked to provide service during day and evening hours. Carefor offers paid professional development such as Gentle Persuasive Approach, Best Friend’s Approach for Dementia Care, Food Handler certification and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Qualifications & Skills: Diploma or Certificate in Recreation, Gerontology, Social Service Work or other related discipline Experience working with clients living with dementia an asset Please note that Richmond Care Home is not accessible by public transit.
