Deputy Manager Job Description To perform the following duties whilst following company policies and procedures. To attain an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and be responsible for continuing professional development. To be knowledgeable of the fundamental standards of CQC. To have in depth knowledge of each contract for each local authority and ensure the contracts are not breeched by any staff member. To have in depth working knowledge of inspection visits by The Care Quality Commission or local authority and complete action plans established within given timeframe to ensure continuous development of company alongside the Registered Manager. To continuously monitor quality of service by: - 1. Ensuring that service user satisfaction surveys are sent and analysed with a full report of findings and actions. 2. Be involved in quarterly internal audits with Registered Manager and director. 3. Review company complaints file and procedures and make changes accordingly. To responsible for the recruitment, selection and retention of staff including: - 1. Liaison with care managers to identify staff shortages 2. Interviewing 3. Obtaining references and DBS checks 4. Ensuring relevant training and shadowing organised and completed before allocated any clients. To be responsible for the management of all staff and ensure all are adequately trained and competent to perform their role in relation to: - 1. Service user reviews 2. Care worker supervisions 3. Care worker spot checks 4. Service user assessments / risk assessments 5. Medication assessments To Communicate effectively and be able to answer questions and offer support to: - 1. Directors 2. Registered Manager 3. Care Co-Ordinators 4. Care workers 5. Clients/ Family 6. Social workers and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. To be responsible for performance of meetings with: - 1. Office staff weekly 2. Forum meetings with local authority as required To be responsible for dealing with complaints, disciplinary and grievances ensuring full investigations completed and appropriate advice sought in accordance with employment law/ The Quality Care Commission. Ensure tracker forms and full reports compiled and sent to the appropriate departments. Ensure all complaints signed off once complete. To be fully aware of and deal with Vulnerable Adults Incidents strictly following the policy for each Authority. To liaise with the Registered Manager in relation to disciplinary/ grievance and investigation meetings ensuring that there is a channel of appeal towards a different managerial team. To support the registered Manager and be prepared to ‘act up’ in their absence with full handovers performed before and after absence. To be completely responsible for all monthly sickness monitoring and return to work interviews. To support Care co-Ordinators with weekly work schedules for care staff and clients ensuring: - 1. Continuity for care workers and clients 2. Adherence to working time regulations 3. Adherence to contractual regulations and hours commissioned. To support Care Co-Ordinators and reallocate clients visits on a day-to-day basis to cover staff sickness ensuring rostering systems reflect changes accurately. To support Care Co-Ordinators and to be responsible for identifying care worker availability to ensure effective liaison with social services and acceptance of referrals. To ensure that on call duties are adequately staffed by experienced staff and cover an agreed amount of on-call duties yourself. To provide ongoing support to any member of staff whilst they are on-call. To assist the Registered Manager and Director with any KPI reports required To be aware of equal opportunities and work non-discriminatory manner. To ensure adequate cover and skill mix and allocate Annual Leave accordingly To ensure that office runs smoothly and be responsible for: - 1. ordering of stock 2. safe working of equipment 3. dealing with conflict 4. identifying any difficulties with role 5. Performing supervisory and appraisal sessions 6. Motivating staff 7. Helping out with each role as required Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £25,000.00 to £27,000.00 /year Experience: Home Care: 5 years (Preferred) Location: Northwich, Cheshire (Preferred) Licence: Drivers (Preferred)
