Canon Europe are currently seeking a technically sound and competent Software Architect. Canon Europe will acquire the ownership of the Customer Reporting System (CRS) from Canon Professional Print and needs to build up a team for taking over the development responsibility of the CRS. The CRS is a business critical application that provides contractually agreed reporting to wider business divisions within Canon EMEA and it is therefore important that the continuity and business usage of the application is maintained The role of the Software Architect is a technical role with expert level architectural insights and business affinity. It is an exciting opportunity to be part of a strategic and high profile growing team with EMEA business impact. The overall purpose of the role is to lead the technical design and development of new or enhanced software products or systems and oversee the development process and methodology and promote best practices for software development Key Software Architect tasks: Contribute to SCE roadmap Architect new software applications Lead software development projects Guide and mentor team members for software development life cycle Monitoring of trends and regulations influencing software development Monitoring KPI’s with respect to software development effectiveness Participate in cross development activities with development partners Represent SCE in internal/external meetings and in customer projects What we give With Canon, you'll get the support and encouragement you need to grow, from people who share your ambition. As the Software Architect your main responsibilities will be to; Architect new software products. Defines software platforms, components, and interfaces and selects development tools. Designs complicated software products, modules, and routines. Select and apply software development tools and methodologies for projects. Lead or participate in software development projects inspire, mentor, and encourage colleagues to apply intelligently customized industry’s best practices Counsel product and development planners on new and improved development technologies, methodologies and tools. Provide technology direction for software development strategies and plans. Provides technical guidance to development teams.
