Position and Responsibilities Joining a team of professionals responsible for equipment maintenance, you will focus your efforts on supporting equipment reliability improvements. Reporting to the reliability engineer, you will complete work on the following projects: Ultrasonic inspection of bearings: Reviewing asset maintenance strategies for equipment on site for opportunities to increase ultrasonic bearing inspections to enable the team to find and prevent equipment breakdowns Work with trades, supervisors, area owners etc. to update ultrasonic inspection asset maintenance plans Implement countermeasures to enable bearings to be accessed to enable checks Participate in Reliability Centered Maintainability equipment reviews and follow up on assignments Review and understand equipment lubrication best practices and then implement equipment upgrades, work instructions etc. to allow site to attain world class lubrication practices Other projects / tasks to be determined Education and Qualifications Currently 2nd or 3rd year mechanical or manufacturing engineering student, preference for an 8 month work term with potential to extend to 12 or 16 months Results oriented self-starter and demonstrate the ability show initiative but also ask questions to ensure work is on track Adhere to all aspects of Cameco health and safety program If anything is unclear, stop, ask, and understand before proceeding Strong English written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills; MS Office, AutoCAD for area layout work General Information: Transportation and Housing: The Towns of Port Hope and Cobourg operate bus services. There are numerous rooms and apartments to rent within walking / biking distance of the workplace. Position Duration: 8 month internship; potential for 12 or 16 months.
