All revenue is reinvested into Calgary Stampede programs and facilities. Position Summary The Agriculture Programming Manager is a member of the Western Events and Agriculture division. This position is responsible for the development, coordination and execution of current agriculture programming. This role will also organize new programming that delivers exceptional guest experiences through the creation of inspired spaces that feature agriculture education initiatives, industry showcases, along with competitions and programs that develop youth. Roles and Responsibilities Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: Manage budget(s) including tracking, analyzing opportunities to reduce costs and increase profitability, produce reports and draft budgets Negotiate with contractors and service providers Develop, organize and execute year-round agriculture and western events, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders Develop and deliver project management plans to ensure successful delivery of events and programs Participate in committee meetings and play an active role in cooperatively leading decisions and program elevation forward through planning and budgeting Engage a network of contacts in a variety of industries within agriculture and education to ensure an awareness of current industry trends Coordinate the marketing, promotions and advertising of year-round agriculture events Create and deliver on a communication strategy and media plan in conjunction with Corporate Communication and Community Engagement to enhance year-round and Stampede time agriculture and western events programming Create and assist with the development of related presentation materials to key audiences, including but not limited to, internal meetings and presentations, external outreach and awareness Qualifications and Education Requirements Post-secondary Diploma or Associate Degree in Agriculture, Business, Event Management, Education or related field Minimum 2 years’ experience in agriculture, volunteer based programs, marketing, event marketing, event production or business development Excellent project management skills Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Intermediate knowledge of budget planning and management Excellent analytical skills Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships Remain up to date on industry trends Strong planning and organizational skills Benefits The Calgary Stampede offers a unique and exciting work environment, an excellent total compensation package and the opportunity for advancement and employee training.
