About Caffè Nero

Caffè Nero is a European coffee house brand specialising in the creation of high quality Italian coffee. Our philosophy is really very simple: Premium Italian coffee. A warm and welcoming atmosphere. Good food and great personal service. When Gerry Ford founded Caffè Nero in 1997, his aim was to bring a premium, continental-style cafè to Great Britain. He wanted it to be authentically Italian, serving premium espresso-based coffee, fresh high quality food, and a neighbourhood gathering spot. Caffè Nero opens one new store a week and now has over 700 stores globally with more than 5,000 skilled baristas and support team. Caffè Nero has been part of the coffee culture revolution and has helped raise the bar on the coffee quality available to consumers through the introduction of hand-crafted artisan coffee in hundreds of towns and cities in Europe and Middle East. Through this, Caffè Nero has become one of the best recognised and most admired coffee house brands in the world. Become a Barista Our Baristas are the heartbeat of Caffè Nero. They don't only tailor our customers' coffee, they make a difference to their day too. You don't need any experience to become a barista (we provide all the training you need), but you do need a great attitude, lots of energy and a good level of spoken English. Become a Shift Leader The next rung on the ladder. Shift Leaders work closely with the Store Manager to achieve the store's success. Motivating the team, ensuring great customer service and helping maintain our brand standards are the key focus. Shift Leaders are well on their way towards a managerial role. Become an Assistant Manager Assistant Managers have learned what it takes to run a successful store. Our training will have helped them discover how they can support and coach others. Now it's time to put those skills into practice and help the Store Manager get the best from their team. Become a Store Manager The person with full responsibility for the store, our Store Managers set the example for others to follow. The role involves developing team members' skills, ensuring the store lives up to our brand's reputation and, of course, delivers financial success. Our Store Managers are the custodians of the Caffè Nero way. Training and Development It takes about three years from starting to acquire the skills of the Barista to effectively running your own business. We stand by you from day one. Closer at first to show you the way. Then, as you progress from Barista to Shift Leader, we step aside a little to let you develop and grow. As you move to Assistant Manager and Manager in Training, we motivate and coach in equal measures. Our aim is to bring out the resourceful, enterprising business leader in you. As Store Manager, you’re a custodian of the Caffè Nero way and running your own coffee house, maybe as one of our coveted Centre of Excellence or Super League Managers – our ‘best of the best’. Finally, you could develop to become an Area Manager, taking the leap from single-site to multi-site management. You’ll be an inspiration to your team while consistently delivering the Caffè Nero brand to our customers. Staff Benefits We are passionate about making our teams feel valued, and our benefits are pretty great too. Through Bean Box, you’ll have access to hundreds of discounts and freebies at the touch of a button. You might want cheap cinema tickets or savings at one of your favourite brands – there’s so much choice!
