To facilitate further growth and development of CPM's Innovation Center, we are looking for a Control Systems Developer: Job description The Control Systems Developer is responsible for planning, organising, controlling, integrating, and completing R&D-projects for the automation control systems within the Innovations Center. Focus will be on the development of PLC/HMI programs of a high degree of complexity, involving process control and interlocking of industrial process controls to field equipment. Assist in the mechanical design by assisting in the selection of electrical instrumentation. Assume responsibility for the installation and performance of complex industrial process control systems in the field. The Innovation Center consists of the R&D and Process Engineering departments. This department is the heart of CPM Europe's innovation and runs its' own Innovation Lab. As a Control Systems Developer, you will be responsible for the controls part of the multi-disciplinary R&D-projects and work in close cooperation with the colleagues within R&D and Process Engineering as well as with the Engineering department. Essential functions: Manage multiple R&D-projects from definition, through experimentation and laboratory and customer tests upto commercial release and aftersales support. Develop, design and test control functionality and execution in close cooperation with multi-disciplinary R&D-team. Complete the actual PLC programming and HMI screen programming. Responsible for complete programming and testing of project, as well as project documentation and equipment listing. Support R&D-team through building of experimental and pilot test set-ups and joining in research and experiments; Establish or participate in (multi-disciplinary) problem analysis and system design as required. Conduct detailed analysis and study of requirements for integrated systems and complex single application programs. Support commissioning (start-up), updates, trouble shooting and modification of control systems and relevant equipment. Interface with D&G and Beta Raven software engineers to enable global synergy of the developed control products. Help with the development and preparation of documentation of operating procedures, testing and field service. Develop programming standards as it relates to CPM equipment in order to create rapid deployments of products. Provide both phone (VPN connection to customer site) and on-site start-up and troubleshooting support for R&D-projects and released products. Supervise and inspect the installation, maintenance and performance of CPM equipment and the mechanical and electrical equipment that interfaces to our control systems. Work with outside contractors, electricians and plant maintenance personnel on tests, installation and calibration issues as necessary. Provide customer service assistance, to include consultation of installations, expansions, repairs, and training of customer personnel. Diagnose problems with installed equipment and provide field support to customer locations. Qualifications: Minimally bachelor's degree ('HBO') in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical background; Preferred 2 to 4 years of work-related skill, knowledge or experience; Practical understanding and working capabilities with programming PLC logic and HMI screens (e.g. Rockwell Automation Control Logix, Schneider, Pro-Face, SoMachine, Siemens PCS7, Siemens S7, RSView, Wonderware etc.); Intimate knowledge of ladder logic programming, regardless of PLC manufacture; Understanding of industrial process control systems using PLC and PC based architectures, IIoT and Cloud based services; Knowledge of related hardware or capability to coordinate (outsourcing of) electrical engineering; Understanding of practical application of process technology and mechanical engineering; Good communication with other disciplines (Process, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering); Good command of the English language and preferably Dutch (or are willing to learn the latter).
