Vacancy CLP Power Hong Kong Limited Hong Kong Offshore LNG Terminal (HKOLNGT) Project Safety Officer (3-Year Contract) [Ref. Our goal is to meet Asia-Pacific's energy challenge in a sustainable manner from one generation to the next. To support the HKSAR Government’s policy of increasing the use of gas-fired power generation, CLP is actively pursuing new sources of gas supply. One potential source is the direct import of LNG through the development of the Hong Kong Offshore LNG Terminal Project, which plans to use a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (‘FSRU’), and it will be berthed at an offshore jetty, with subsea pipelines used to transport gas to end users/power plants. Reporting directly to the Engineer I – Safety, the incumbents will be responsible for coordinating and conducting the Safety & Health programs and activities at the workplace to ensure full compliance with the latest legislations and Company’s related policies and requirements. Major duties include: Assist in coordinating the implementation and promotion of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) related activities and programs. Assist in conducting regular Safety & Health observations and inspections to ensure the compliance of relevant company requirements at the workplace. Identify and monitor Safety & Health hazards, advise and implement adequate control measures for proactive incident prevention. Provide SHEQ related supports & services to Business Units, contractors and relevant stakeholders. Consolidate Safety & Health relevant data for analysis. Requirements: A recognized university degree in engineering or occupational health & safety discipline or equivalent and Registered Safety Officer (RSO). At least 3 years’ post-registration working experience; Experience in large scale project or offshore project would be an advantage. Conversant with local statutory Safety & Health requirements, legislations, code of practice and standards. Strong sense of responsibility with good interpersonal and communication skills. Shift work is required when necessary. Able to work independently and under pressure. Familiar with MS Office applications and project management tools. Good written and spoken English and Cantonese. Proficient in Mandarin would be an advantage.
