Mechanical Engineer/EIT Mission As part of our exciting growth, CIMA+’s Edmonton office is currently recruiting for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our ever-growing process/mechanical team of professionals in our Industrial Engineering sector. This role will require the candidate to perform a variety of engineering design, office and field duties and be involved in learning and skill sharing while working with other engineers and technologists. Familiarity with construction and quality control activities would be a benefit. You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to perform independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist project engineers in carrying out technical tasks requiring accuracy in calculations, completeness of data and adherence to prescribed methods Prepare plans, designs and calculations based on specifications provided Assist with writing project reports, documents and proposals for transportation, municipal infrastructure and related projects such as roads and drainage. Conduct studies of limited scope requiring application of prescribed engineering methods Assist with conducting field work including investigations, surveys, inspections and construction site supervision Liaise with clients, government and regulatory authorities and contractors Support in developing departmental procedures and templates Profile University graduate in Mechanical Engineering or a similar program, with registration as an engineer-in-training and eligible for registration. Works well in a team environment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Knowledge of industrial mechanical engineering concepts and principles Excellent verbal and written communication skills, bilingual (French) considered a definitive asset. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Plan 3D, Navisworks, Microsoft Office, Excel, and other software applications Previous related consulting experience would be an asset. You pride yourself on your strong work ethic, your ability to learn quickly and your desire to be part of an engineering team. Your accuracy and productivity are strengths and bring solid interpersonal and communication skills. Adaptability: able to work in various industries, oil & gas, pulp & paper, mining and other manufacturing facilities.
