CHA Consulting Inc, is currently seeking an Engineer I to join our Gas Group at a Liverpool, NY client site. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Investigation and confirmation that all new materials match the factory specifications of the accompanying documentation. Interprets engineering specifications and solves routine problems by applying defined procedures Develops a familiarity with company standards, client expectations, and typical engineering practices May accompany senior engineering staff on field assignments when appropriate Performs other appropriate related engineering duties EDUCATION AND LICENSURE: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering (accredited) is required. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) is preferred SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework related to natural gas transmission and distribution is preferred Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field Familiar with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.) Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level engineering and project management staff Preferred experience in materials science/materials inventory, especially carbon steel pipe and fittings through coursework or internships.
