Description: Statement of Purpose: This position works in the facilities department to ensure timely completion of construction projects and the coordination of resources among multiple departments to maximize efficiency and expedite results. The Project Manager is responsible for leading the Planning, Design and Management of all assigned construction projects. Works independently throughout all phases of a project. Responsible for monitoring the schedule and budget requirements of each project. Oversees architectural and engineering design. Works with other department users to facilitate all aspects of design and equipment specification. Coordinates design schedules, develops bid packages and secures bids from general contractors and design professionals. Working with the Director, develops bid tabulations by scoping and qualifying bids. Works closely with CAN Community Health, Inc.'s Facilities Department to secure facility related shutdowns, sometimes working off hours. Reviews and acts on project correspondence, provides recommendations on project matters to manager and Senior Management. Coordinates schematic design concepts and programming. Procures bids, and manages the installation of furniture and other equipment related to construction projects and other duties as assigned, Must be able to manage project budgets in excess of $5 million. Primary Tasks: Project Manager- Design, Facilities & Construction Manages design and construction projects by providing support to department heads and coordinating between relevant parties. Maintains an ongoing schedule of prioritized tasks. Researches relevant information regarding future and current projects. Implements new technology to maximize efficiency and streamline communication both within facilities department and between other relevant departments. Utilizes technological resources to schedule and track both development and construction projects. Ensures deadlines are met by holding parties accountable for task completion. Creates, modifies and tracks projects in Excel and CPM Management software. Organizes and develops process flows to standardize project management and maximize efficiency. Maintains systems databases to reflect up-to-date progress on projects and communicates to relevant parties what tasks/issues warrant priority given overall information picture. Communicates between departments, serving as liaison between participating parties. Streamlines business operations within the logistics department, ensuring timely completion of business operations, maximizing financial savings. Maintain and monitor inter-departmental communication and goal progress. Develops short and long-term goals within logistics ensuring CAN's meaningful expansion into new and existing markets. Preforms pre-construction services to prepare scope of work, cost estimate, cash flow, schedule & critical milestones and risk identification of GMP delivery. Responsible for coordinating and managing all necessary project resources from start to finish on time and within budget in a highly collaborative environment. Leads project delivery team, architects, engineers and owners, providing project guidance and direction to achieve project goals. Conducts weekly formal meetings with the team to ensure work is on schedule, withing budget and complies with contract document requirements. Secondary Tasks: Project Manager- Design, Facilities & Construction Cross trains with other departments. Performs all other duties as required. Reports To: Director of Facilities, Design and Construction. Requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Project Manager- Design, Facilities & Construction Strong organizational ability. Knowledge of project management tasks and workflow. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, Power Point and scheduling software.. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Executes problem-solving and decision making techniques. Ability to travel as necessary for work responsibilities. High analytical thinking skills. Self-driven and tasks oriented. Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Required knowledge of regulatory standards appropriate to the position. Required ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents/Blueprints/Plans Required customer service skills Required coordination and organizational skills. Education/Professional: Project Manager- Design, Facilities & Construction Associates Degree in business or related field Bachelor's Degree preferred. Design experience required. Architectural experience preferred. Hospital or medical design/construction experience preferred. Experience Required: Project Manager- Design, Facilities & Construction 8-years relevant construction experience with candidates with Associate Degree 10 - 15 years relevant experience with High School diploma or GED Physical Demands: Project Manager- Design, Facilities & Construction Neat, professional appearance. Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly in lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Requires expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word, visual and auditory acuity.
