Due to continued expansion Bullet Express Ltd are seeking a qualified and experienced Transport Manager based at our Bothwell depot to manage all aspects of the Transport Department within our 3 depots. Bullet Express specialises in UK and worldwide road, air and sea freight and have continued to expand year on year for 30 years after being established in central Scotland by cousins Gary Smith and David McCutcheon. What's involved? The position will report direct to the Operation Directors at sites and will be targeted with KPI driven service levels ensuring operator license is managed efficiently in all respects. Main responsibilities: Full management of the Operator license Ensure full compliance with legislation requirements including working time and tacho rules Monitor the physical fleet at all depots to ensure it is kept in a fit and serviceable condition Monitor and audit drivers defect reporting at all depots to ensure that defects are both reported and rectified promptly Maintain detailed vehicle records per legislation Monitor and audit tachograph data to ensures driver hours rules are fully observed and proper records are maintained Monitor drivers performance to ensure vehicles are operated in a safe and efficient manner; and within speed limits Support the senior management team, other depots, your senior management team and all other warehouse/ distribution staff. Monitoring of fuel usage and negotiate fuel deals Schedule repairs of fleet as identified Liase with suppliers and maintenance companies for best value Other duties to be discussed at interview Key skills and qualifications Must hold valid Transport CPC National and International Must have a proven track record of at least 5 years Excellent IT skills requited (traffic systems an advantage but training will be given) Excellent organisational and managerial skills Excellent communication skills needed. Further details: Ideal candidate will be available to start 1st March 2020 but start date is negotiable. Salary will be discussed at interview but will be competitive. Employee package included. Working week will be Mon-Fri with some weekend work required.
