Job Summary: This position will provide support to HR/Management on all personnel manners including payroll processing, new hire orientation, and assisting with ongoing employee processes and communications on all HR matters. HR Generalist Responsibilities: Owning the everyday HR processes and getting involved in the larger HR projects from start to finish Serves as initial point of contact for advice, problem resolution, and facilitation in the areas of employee relations, performance management, benefits and associate discipline. Fielding daily employee questions including benefit questions, employee information change requests, and other employee matters Coordinates with Human Resources Manager to assist in recruiting process, interview scheduling, screening resumes, applicant tracking and record keeping requirements Conducts new-employee orientation; coordinates pre-employment drug tests, background checks and prepares new hire packages Understand and properly apply parameters of labor issues including FMLA, ADA, HIPAA and Leaves of Absence. Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations Maintain employee information, personnel and training files Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience is strongly preferred Minimum 3 years of directly related experience in an HR department of a small to mid-sized organization Competencies, Knowledge, Skill & Abilities Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Strong knowledge of HR Employment Law including but not limited to Benefits (COBRA), FMLA, EEO, ADA, Wage & Hour (FLSA), Workers Compensation, and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). Ability to help others in the organization understand the impacts of these laws on business practices and policies Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Customer/Client focus Focused, detail oriented, and results driven High levels of attention to detail and discretion Passion for employee support & advocacy Demonstrates good listening skills, able to communicate status and responds clearly to employee inquires Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information 15-20% Travel, some overnight Preferred Qualification Prior experience with Paychex
