Inside Brightflag We're rapidly on the road to success? 2019 was an amazing year for Brightflag, we experienced our Series A Funding Round (raised $8.5 million in April 2019). We doubled in size, going from 40 people to a mightly team 80+ talented people across Dublin, New York, and Sydney. We moved offices in Dublin to enable growth, we made some instrumental hires across the globe, we created new teams and functions within Brightflag, as well as adding more amazing new enterprise customers to our portfolio. 2020 & 2021 were even better, we announced the completion of a $28 million growth equity investment and again doubled our teams in USA & Dublin, continuing to acquire multinational customers and enhance our product feature set. But this is only the beginning - we're looking forward to seeing what the next decade has in store for us! Our Founding Story Ian Nolan, our CEO & Co-Founder worked in legal technology building software for law firms and Alex Kelly, our COO & Co-Founder worked as a corporate lawyer in a large law firm. They both saw the fundamental issue that existed in the legal industry whereby corporations could not effectively control legal costs. This is because lawyers charge on an hourly rate basis and don’t give any certainty about how much a piece of work will cost. Our first ever customer was a tier 1 UK bank that saved over 10% on their external spend using our AI-powered tool to review their invoices. We quickly expanded into the US market and coincided with the emergence of the legal operations movement where legal departments in large organizations are hiring teams and investing in technologies to drive the efficiency of the legal function. Our customers are large multinational corporations across a variety of industries including technology, financial services, and manufacturing.
