This is a great opportunity to join our expanding HR team as an In-house Recruitment Specialist. This is a full-time opportunity working 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, based in Maidstone, Kent. The Role This is a challenging and rewarding role within a generalist HR team. As a recruitment specialist you will provide proactive resourcing solutions for all roles within a busy regional legal practice. Great teamwork and collaboration with your colleagues will be essential. Under the direction of the HR Manager, you will be responsible for attracting, recruiting and onboarding all new employees to the firm. Key responsibilities General Recruitment Obtaining Recruitment Authority Forms from the hiring manager and seeking approval to hire from the Executive Board Placing Adverts Drafting Job Descriptions/Person Specifications Utilising Linked-in, various other job portals and social media to source and attract talent ensuring the relevant criteria is met Placement and negotiation with agency’s head-hunters – Negotiating terms of business with agencies and head-hunters Placing open roles with PSL agencies Reviewing and responding to all applications received Designing competency based assessments to use during the interview process Administering all psychometric tests and providing feedback to interviewers to assist with questions to be asked at interview Conducting first round interviews for all positions below Partner level Feedback to candidates Trainees/Apprentices Liaise with the training partner in relation to requirements Reviewing and responding to applications received Organise the trainee interview days Design and implement assessments On-going communication with the trainees before joining Administering training contracts and seat changes Assisting the training partner with managing trainee performance Liaising with apprenticeship providers Assisting supervisors with providing support to the apprentice to fulfil apprenticeship requirements Liaise and work with Law South in relation to PSC and SQE training Work Experience Candidates Ensure website is advertising current practices Liaise with schools/colleges/ other institutions Review and respond to applications received Organise interviews and placements Collate feedback from the individual placed and those supervising Other Responsibilities Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders Ensure all data held is in compliance with GDPR requirements Attend careers fairs Build relationships with universities Give feedback to the HR team on any training and development needs To be responsible for all appropriate pre-employment screening Compiling recruitment statistics Working with the HR Administrator to ensure all recruitment administration is carried out accurately and in a timely manner Identifying areas for improvement, gathering evidence and offering possible solutions Are you the right person? This position will suit someone with a minimum of 12 months in a recruitment position, ideally with some in-house experience. You need to be passionate about the Firm’s culture and confident in delivering the Firm’s values to ensure you identify the best candidate for the role in terms of ability and cultural fit. You must be confident and able to build relationships with internal hiring managers / partners of various levels across different areas of the business and effectively provide them with guidance and support throughout the entire recruitment process. You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be comfortable conducting interviews alongside team members with candidates of various levels up to Partner. You should have high energy, motivation, drive and professionalism with enthusiasm to deliver excellent results in timely manner. You will need to be highly organised and have excellent task management skills with demonstrable experience of managing multiple roles. Being able to adapt quickly and effectively whilst remaining calm under pressure is essential. You must be computer literate with experience working with Microsoft 365 and Excel expertise is a must. Attention to detail is paramount with an ability to identify and communicate errors quickly. The ideal candidate will be a team player who should demonstrate an excellent attitude and interpersonal skills to enable you to contribute towards the success of a team. However, you should also be disciplined, self-motivated, enthusiastic and hard working to be able to work on your own and show initiative when required.
