ROLE SUMMARY The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the Corporate Payables functions. The position reports to the Division Controller and interacts with other functional areas including Sales, Corporate Accounting, Operations Finance, Tax, Payables and Receivables, and Operations. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Manage all Accounts Payable expense invoices for Corporate and Division Coordinate the setup and updating of vendors in the financial system Responsible for accurate and timely Accounts Payable month end close process Monitor, maintain and enhance internal controls in relation to Accounts Payable Acquire appropriate approvals for accounts payable expense invoices and payments Assist with year-end and quarterly audits Generate weekly check runs, validate check details Field vendor phone calls and emails Strong quantitative skills for assistance in managing cash balances Ability to step in as required in accounts receivable system QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree preferred. Accounting or Finance preferred. 5+ years' work experience in accounts payable preferred Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking/cash management systems preferably Bank of America CashPro. Proficient in handling large amounts of data in excel and other financial systems Detail oriented, capable of balancing a number of shared service tasks Capable of developing strong working relationships with teammates IT strengths are a plus, given new systems implementation Capable of working with teams overseas as required for accounts payable and receivable duties PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically exposed to normal office working conditions. Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and caustic chemicals while on the manufacturing floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
