This is a full-time job with seasonally varying tasks. Our busiest time is spring and summer, when you will drive a spray truck, spraying liquid fertilisers, and agricultural chemicals (herbicides, insecticides & fungicides) onto pasture and various brassicas for our clients. In Winter, when the spraying is scarcer, we keep warm by dipping sheep & ridding them of external parasites. This role requires someone who is fit, active and fully able to carry out the physical demands of the job – which does involve regular lifting. Maybe you are already familiar with Spray truck driving or are passionate about machinery and ready to learn something new. All of our trucks are equipped with Satellite GPS, so you will need to have a little bit of technical awareness to operate that, but we have friendly staff who can teach you what you need to know. A mechanical mind-set is a great asset, as we like you to look after your own truck (within reason).We provide full on-the-job training, well-maintained equipment and vehicles, and a focused and friendly working environment. So, if you have common sense, can live for long periods of time without the need to stare at your phone, and don't suffer from the 'wisenheimer disease' we would like to hear from you.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. A successful applicant will have the following attributes: An excellent work ethic, and references that support itAn HT, DG and Approved Handlers licence – or the ability to get these with our supportIndependently motivated and proud of doing a job wellA clear understanding of the importance of safety procedures, and the ability to follow themGood stock sense, and the ability to represent the company well when on-farm Most importantly, you must be willing to put in long hours over Summer, as this is when we are the busiest.
