Position Title: Network Engineer/ Telecommunications Position location(s):Washington, DC Position Type: Full Time Years of Experience: 5 Minimum Security Clearance Requirement: none Blackwatch is searching for a qualified candidate for the Network Engineer / Telecommunications Engineer position to support services for diplomatic computing platforms, audio-visual systems, and other cable plants and related infrastructure for a government client. Responsibilities: Provide for implementation of Foreign Affairs Cable Plant and Infrastructure program activities. Support the scheduled and unscheduled deployment of Foreign Affairs Cable Plant and Infrastructure systems throughout EAP. Provide intermediate level network and computing support with an emphasis on IP, VPN, Active Directory, RF shielding, connectivity and telecommunications. Provide Foreign Affairs Cable Plant and Infrastructure subject matter expertise and research/development assistance. Evaluate new concepts and technologies. Provide support for the installation of all manner of Foreign Affairs cable plants. Provide headquarters-based and deployed support for EAP projects as necessary including those accomplished expeditionary environments. Qualifications: Intermediate knowledge of Departoment of State (DoS) contingency computing and communications programs with an emphasis on the use of these systems in emergency situations Intermediate knowledge of fixed and non-fixed computing networking Intermediate knowledge of connectivity solutions including satellite based systems Intermediate knowledge of IRM programs, functions and requirements Intermediate knowledge of DoS overseas diplomatic environment including high threat locations Intermediate knowledge of DoS cable infrastructure deployment requirements and activities Intermediate knowledge of the development of complete bills of material related to the installation of technology systems in U.S. diplomatic facilities abroad Significant experience providing on-site technology service at U.S. diplomatic facilities abroad 5+ years’ of federal computer and networking experience Ability to lift 50lbs Must be US citizen Blackwatch International Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Affirmative Action Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected Veteran Status, or any other characteristics protected by law.
