You'll be jumping into a well established development team that is great at what they do. You will bring your Java development experience with you to provide fresh ideas and help to guide us on how to tackle tough technical challenges. Developing and implementing new algorithms for analysing sequence data, creating scientific visualisation tools, and integrating with cloud services is all in a day's work in this exciting and diverse engineering environment! You will: Develop and maintain Geneious Prime and other Java based software solutions. Collaborate regularly with colleagues and customers to establish requirements and iterate on designs. As part of a cross-functional development team, take on testing, documentation and support when needed. You have: Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent experience. 0 to Integer.MAX_VALUE practical development experience. Great written and verbal English. System administration skills would be a big plus, particularly with Linux and SQL servers. Knowledge of Biology is not required, but would be beneficial (we have a lot of Biologists who are happy to share their passion, if you don't have the domain experience). Must be able to attend interviews in Auckland, New Zealand. Hitting 100% across all of the above areas is not essential: enthusiasm and a willingness to learn/adapt/create is.
