Betz Pools Ltd. is currently looking for a Tile Installation and Repair Specialist with general labouring, pool equipment and tile installation experience to join our team! Qualified candidates may possess multiple work behaviours, such as: self motivated and an independent leader and have experience in tiling, demolition and grouting knowledge. The Pool Tile Installer and Repair Specialist will be required to perform tasks involving physical labor and technical skills at pool/spa sites and will be required to operate a variety of hand and power tools. The Pool Tile Installer and Repair Specialist are required to complete daily tasks, such as: demolition and prep work, cleanliness of the work environment, as well as, coping and tile repairs. Work Location Head office Location: Stouffville, ON. Additional travel in the GTA Hours of Work Monday - Friday: 8:30 am till Finished Job Duties Use a mixture of power tools, such as; grinders, tile chipping guns, tile cutters, hammers and drills. Remove damaged tiles off pool skimmer area, wall, spill over wall, and benches. Clean pool surfaces for proper and level installation. Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces Cut and shape tiles to ensure proper fit around obstacles, tight corners and odd spaces. Align tiles and straighten them with straightedges, levels and squares to ensure patterns are even and precise. Remove coping, concrete and general masonry. Resetting loose coping stones and patch work. Small Marblelite repairs. Repair cocking between coping stones and deck to ensure protection from water damage. Prepare work area daily and maintain clean work sites to eliminate possible hazards and ensure equipment and surroundings are properly maintained. Identify, pack, and transport hazardous materials. Work a water pump to discharge water from pre-existing pools (training will be provided). Set pool system to autofill when leaving a site to ensure client satisfaction. Check the condition of work performed each day to ensure proper spacing and placement of tile Ensuring that the finished job is complete and meets the project specifications before departing the job site Drive in the GTA area to sites required by Renovations Manager. Must be able to work in accordance with health & safety policies, policies, and procedures. Job Requirements Valid Drivers License with a clean abstract Ability to swim and feels comfortable around water Ideal person would like to work outside and independently with minimal oversight/supervision Currently working in a skilled trade or 2-3 previous related pool experience is preferred. Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures. Demonstrates passion to learn new skills Ability to follow direction and works independently Professional appearance and attitude Customer oriented and professionalism on private property Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner Effective verbal and listening communications skills Time management skills and punctuality Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary for renovation Complete daily tasks for required schedule Pool technician knowledge will be trained. Work Conditions Job requires ability to work with power tools. Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. Job will require worker to perform in awkward positions (on side, inverse positions.) Ability to lift objects up to 75 lbs is required. Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. hard-hat, safety boots, etc.) Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in indoor/outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue and to effectively jump, sprint or throw an object. Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
