We have an entry-level opportunity available in our San Francisco, CA office for an Underwriting Associate. The Underwriting Associate will learn on the job and become an experienced & successful Workers' Comp Underwriter after successful completion of training period (within six to twelve months). The Underwriting Associate will be trained on the essential aspects for succeeding in the position, which include workers’ compensation law, policy processing, risk selection, and pricing procedures. The Associate will participate in our training program which includes on-the-job training under the guidance of a supervisor and/or mentor, as well as classroom-style training. Duties will include both team and individual work, assigned reading and learning the duties of an Underwriter to be able to manage a book of business, as well as ongoing training sessions and meetings. As the Associate gains knowledge and critical thinking skills and is able to apply the training, s/he will be granted increased autonomy over their workload as they develop into a fully proficient Underwriter.
