Full / Part Time:Full time Location:Northampton,Massachusetts Regular/Temporary:Regular Job Description We are looking for a full time Patient Service Representative for Baystate OB/GYN in Northampton, MA. What you will do: Greet patients promptly in warm, friendly manner demonstrating appropriate amount of interest or concern. Confirm that we have referrals or pre-authorizations if necessary. Maintain waiting area, check reading materials, play areas, etc. Insurance Verification: Request proof of insurance; verify using appropriate systems, initiates contact for financial counseling. Assist patients or customers fill out and complete medical release of information accurately. Co-payments- Requests, accepts and documents co-payments and payments on account balances and releases change. Answers telephones in prompt courteous manner within practice time frames. Routes phone call to appropriate person and/or creates message in system. Asks questions when unsure of how to proceed. Schedules/creates new, follow-up or walk-in appointments according to practice guidelines. Ensures a duplicate medical record number is not created. Makes reminder calls to patients. Cancels appointments managing wait lists and no shows. What you will need: High School Diploma or GED required. Six months experience in a similar role preferred. Excellent customer service skills. What you need to know: This is a full time position. This person must be available Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. This position is located at 325 King Street in Northampton, MA. Patient Service Representative I will have at least 6 months experience in a similar role Patient Service Representative II will have at least 18 months experience in a similar role Patient Service Representative III will have at least 3 years experience in a similar role, including 2 years at Baystate Health Education: GED or HiSET (Required) Languages: Certifications: Work Experience: Competencies: Responsibilities: Skills: Training Details: Baystate Health is an Equal Opportunity employer.
