Business Unit: Intern Barings’ Information/Cybersecurity Team is seeking an Intern for the Barings Summer Internship Programme; located in the Barings’ London, UK office. The Barings Internship Programme also includes social events, networking opportunities, involvement in the community, and training. As a member of this team, the individual will be part of a risk focused security environment where they will assist in developing protective controls, running technical controls/security programs & detecting attacks to help reduce cyber-risk of the firm. The ideal candidate will have a proven appreciation, interest in and understanding of cybersecurity, problem solving, and programming – scripting – knowledge. Primary Responsibilities Day-to-day support of security technologies, and internally-developed processes, with a specific focus on cybersecurity. Potentially investigating reported vulnerabilities and alerts. Aid in the design of various projects stemming from vulnerability reduction, security automation & orchestration, endpoint protection and Assist the standing security teams – Cyber GRC (Policies & Standards, and Cyber Risk & Controls), and Security Architecture with various tasks as necessary. Interact directly with cross-functional teams for requirements gathering Adhere to, and support the team in maintaining cybersecurity standards Qualifications Aptitude, interest and understanding of cyber security as important as formal qualifications. Experience working with Cybersecurity technologies (academic or practical) Keep up-to-date with latest trends and threats Knowledge of the CIA triad Experience working with a functional programming/scripting languages (Python, PHP, PowerShell etc.) Good written and communication skills to report on findings in a clear and structured manner Candidates in their penultimate year working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with a focus on Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Mathematics, and/or Computer Science Good time-management, problem solving, organization, and analytical skills Experience working in environments that require strict adherence to change control policies Important information regarding this requisition: This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK.
