Temporary full time Heidelberg Location Parks and Gardens role Banyule's Parks and Open Space Department is looking for a Bushland Team Member to join their team. Banyule's Parks and Open Space Department is responsible for the care and development of over 200 parks and reserves 50 sports field, 163 playgrounds, over 75,000 street trees, extensive shared trail networks, as well as plethora of park furniture and assets that enhance the urban landscape and create a more attractive and liveable environment. About the role As the Bushland Team Member you will carry out works on the Darebin Creek Reserve and various Bush reserves within the Yarra/Plenty and Darebin region of the municipality under the direction of Darebin Senior Ranger. Duties To assist with on site preparation, weed control and maintenance works within Bush Reserves Assist in conservation and habitat protection activities Remove rubbish from parks and reserves Demonstrate environment activities to school and community groups Maintain records, i.e., timesheets, planting records Operate, maintain and adjust all plant equipment Qualifications Study in Natural Resource management or related field Two years’ experience on urban revegetation/ regeneration projects Ability to operate four wheel drive vehicle Experience working with Community / Friends and School groups Demonstrate Knowledge of flora indigenous to Banyule’s Parks and reserves Benefits $66,195.51 plus super Temporary full time 38 hours per week 15 March 2020 to 11 September 2020 9 day fortnight Based in Bellfield/Heidelberg Learning and development opportunities and health and wellbeing initiatives Position requires a Functional Capacity Assessment and police check
