Role overview The purpose of this role is to provide technical support and facility services to the Institute’s scientists in the various Laboratory Buildings. The post-holder will work closely with the Science Buildings and Facilities Manager and the other Science Buildings and Facilities Co-ordinators to provide assistance and advice to scientists regarding equipment purchase, siting and maintenance; media prep and glass-washing service; communal equipment use; office and laboratory moves. In this role, the post holder will liaise closely with on-site engineers and external contractors to facilitate building and equipment maintenance and repair. The post-holder will have a science background with experience of laboratory management, Health & Safety, Biosafety and will be comfortable communicating with staff at all levels within the Institute. The post-holder will be well organized and able to cope with running several projects concurrently. There will also be a need for flexibility in working in order to provide support out of hours.
