Payroll Assistant Manager BDO Ireland is seeking a skilled Payroll Assistant Manager to join our successful and expanding Payroll department as part of our growth plans for the next five years. We are looking for a highly organised and efficient Payroll Professional with a minimum of 5 years’ Payroll processing preferably within a bureau or shared service environment. The ideal candidate should have experience running both UK and Ireland payrolls with a strong emphasis on UK. This role will be an excellent opportunity for someone with excellent communication and problem solving skills looking to further their payroll career. The successful candidate can avail of flexible working hours in this position. Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Payroll Team/People Development Responsibility for management of own reporting teams portfolio of clients Responsible for maintaining review process and the review and sign off of payrolls Involvement in identification, co-ordination and delivery of team training Day to day management of a sub Team of Payroll executives and administrators within the overall payroll team Participation in performance appraisals, recruitment, feedback and team development Support, guide and coach team members with their client and payroll issues Involved in ensuring strategic goals and objectives are being followed and met Technical/Compliance Expertise Keep processing skills up to date by acting as back up processor as required Provide guidance and advise with technical, legislative and systems queries Build relationships with other departments within the organisation that work alongside the payroll team in some cases e.g. Tax, Outsourcing, Finance Continuously strive to further improve current procedures whilst ensuring payroll is processed in the most accurate and efficient manner Ensure compliance, data protection and risk control within the team Client Relationships Act as the first point of contact for client escalation Responsible for carrying out regular client feedback calls as required Involvement in the collaborative process of on boarding new clients Maintain and further develop the relationship with existing clients on teams portfolio Be enthusiastic and passionate about providing clients with the highest level of service Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Qualities, Skills & Experience Required A minimum of 5 years’ Payroll processing experience preferably a bureau or shared service environment IPASS or other accounting qualification an advantage Team player who embodies the BDO Core Values: Empowering, Independent, Passionate, Inclusive, Agile, Caring and Collaborative Ability to communicate effectively Strong collaboration skills Experience of software packages Europay & IRIS would be an advantage Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel & Outlook Excellent time management, administration skills and attention to detail Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure Strong problem-solving abilities Benefits Job Benefits Competitive salary Enhanced benefit allowance Personal Health Insurance Free breakfast every day Early finish Fridays Group health schemes Life assurance Coverage of professional subscription Centrally located office Employee referral scheme Career progression BDO Learning & Development programme Cycle to Work scheme Taxsaver scheme Employee discount scheme Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) CSR, Sports and Social and Wellness Committees BDO endeavours to recruit and fill vacancies directly.
