BBS is currently looking for a mechanical engineer who is capable of designing automatic assembly machines, from initial concept to design completion. You have a thorough knowledge of design practices and tolerances, a basic understanding of electromechanical relationships, and a good grasp of machine functions and timing. You will interface with the project Lead engineer, controls engineer, builders, and others; and will be responsible for staying within the project's assigned budget and schedule. Designs according to previously developed concepts, layouts, assemblies and detail drawings, schematics, and bills of material used in producing custom machinery Able to select components and properly implement them Basic knowledge of pneumatics as well as cams and servos Some experience in synchronous and non-synchronous machines Basic knowledge of machine shop practices Ability to communicate engineering concepts and ideas clearly B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience At least 3 years experience in assembly automation Fluent in the use of 3D CAD (SolidWorks); working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD is a plus A comprehensive Benefits package is available: Medical and Dental coverage Company Paid Life, AD&D and STD LTD Vision 401k plan Flex Spending Vacation time Paid Holidays BBS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
