Applegreen choose Auxilion for Cloud Transformation and Managed Services Applegreen plc (ESM-APGN), Ireland’s publicly quoted petrol forecourt retailer, with sites in the UK and US, selected Auxilion to implement a major IT transformation programme. The cloud-based solution facilitated the move from legacy IT systems across over 200+ global sites to support the company’s expansion internationally. Applegreen, which reported revenues of €1.17 billion in 2016, has grown from 64 sites at the end of 2009, to over 250 forecourt sites across the UK, Ireland and the USA. “Exceptional growth rates had placed strains on our existing on-premise technology. The need to rapidly incorporate new sites and scale seamlessly with maximum reliability led to a major review of our IT infrastructure in 2015,” commented Vincent Nolan, (former) Group Head of Information Technology at Applegreen plc. “It is business critical to ensure resilience, stability and scalability when your operations run on a 24/7 basis. Implementing such a major transformation programme without downtime is like trying to change the tyres on a Ferrari without a pit stop.” Working with cloud specialist Auxilion, which operates support centres in Ireland and the UK, Applegreen decided to implement a Microsoft Azure cloud computing solution which fits the three major requirements – resilience, stability and scalability. Irish Ferries Group choose Auxiilion as Managed Service and Transformation Partner Shipping, transport and leisure company, Irish Continental Group (ICG), wanted to outsource the management and monitoring of critical ICT infrastructure across Ireland and Europe. Following a competitive tender process, Irish Continental Group selected Auxilion to deliver the multi-year service agreement. Auxilion remotely manages and monitors ICG’s IT infrastructure across Ireland, the UK, France and the Netherlands. Publicly quoted ICG, which reported revenues of over €335m in 2017, operates a virtualised IT infrastructure to support its ferries, container and port operations businesses. Since 2000 the group has invested over €500 million in new vessels, port infrastructure and acquisitions making it the leading Irish marine transport operator. “With passengers and corporate customers booking and conducting business online, our IT Infrastructure is critical to our ability to service customer needs. We selected Auxilion because of its track record in high quality 24x7x365 IT support across borders,” commented Seamus McCarville, Head of IT at Irish Continental Group plc. Leading global renewables company Mainstream selected Auxilion to deliver a multi-year Mirosoft cloud and digital services programme Leading global renewables company Mainstream selected Auxilion to deliver a multi-year Mirosoft cloud and digital services programme. As part of the contract Auxilion moved elements of Mainstream’s IT infrastructure to the Microsoft cloud.
