Location: Canberra Executive Level 2 ($124,537 – $143,964) (plus superannuation and allowances) Ongoing (permanent), full-time position The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has an exciting opportunity for a Census National Logistics Manager (Executive Level 2) to join the 2021 Census Program in our Canberra office in Belconnen. The Census has been described as Australia’s largest peace time logistical exercise and is by far the ABS’s most significant undertaking. The 2021 Census Program is responsible for planning, developing, testing, implementing and delivering the Australian Census of Population and Housing. Within the 2021 Census Program, the Census National Logistics Manager is responsible for the national logistics and material process e.g. the print, production, and distribution of Census instruction letters and paper Census forms. This is an ongoing (permanent) position. Your Qualities, Skills and Experience The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate all or most of the following skills, qualities and experience: extensive vendor management skills, including experience in managing multiple and concurrent contractors for large events experience in complex procurement and contract management processes experience in managing large scale national logistical projects demonstrated project management and coordination experience understanding of the print and logistics industries with established networks in logistics demonstrated ability to deliver quality outcomes within a dynamic and complex environment, and able to demonstrate good judgement in problem solving, decision making, and risk and issues management.
