Augsburg University offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and 11 graduate degrees to approximately 3,400 students of diverse backgrounds. The Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science includes 13 full-time faculty members and a core of committed adjunct faculty members. The department is located in Augsburg's newest building -- the Hagfors Center for Science, Business, and Religion which opened in 2018. Classes throughout the department incorporate active learning and student activities or projects. Faculty get to know students well with normally no more than 28 students per class. Students from majors across campus take introductory mathematics and statistics courses as part of their major or to fulfill the university's general education requirements. Our developmental curriculum supports students in preparing for college level courses. Our introductory and developmental courses are designed to engage a diverse student audience through meaningful examples and applications, make use of modern technology, and provide ample support for student success.
