Overview of area of work Work as part of a cross-functional development team in the development and execution of product enhancements, product upgrades, and new product introductions for software and hardware technologies on cutting edge networked audio/video products. Development of software for digital audio and video networking devices and systems. Responsibilities Develop software according to established software development methodologies and principles for delivering production grade software. Develop implementation plans from product and feature description documentation. Maintain engineering and technical documentation. Protection of Audinate intellectual property. Estimation and planning of tasks that detail the development of the software products. Review the design and code developed by peer engineers. Developing and maintaining awareness of the business significance of the results of the program you are working on. Provide customer technical support. Software; unit, component and system level test development. Work closely with the embedded software and hardware teams. Required skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated Initiative, Creativity, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task and context switch in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, yet maintain focus on the most important tasks and responsibilities at hand. Ability to work effectively in a team. C/C++ and Python. Continuous integration, version control, task management and documentation tool experience; such as Jenkins, GIT, JIRA, Confluence. Understanding of TCP/IP and UDP network communications. Strong experience working at various levels across common operating systems. Exposure to development for Windows or OSX. Knowledge of Linux / Linux internals. Desirable skills Experience working in an Agile development team, mentoring, pairing and collaborating with others. Unix utilities, shell and scripting languages such as Bash and Python. Linux builder systems such as Buildroot, Yocto, Open Embedded. Experience with the GNU software development toolchain including gcc, binutils, and gnumake. Experience with ARM processors or other microprocessor architectures such as Microblaze. Working knowledge of network stacks. Unit Testing, TDD and behavioral testing. Cross platform development. Modern C++ and Object oriented design.
