We are currently seeking applications for an experienced design professional with the energy, discipline, creativity and skills to keep pushing the Aspen product lineup ahead of the competition. Working in our Richmond, BC office, this senior role requires you to have 5 or more years experience in heavy haul trailer or mobile equipment design. The Senior Mechanical Designer at Aspen holds a position on our engineering team that manages the entire product development cycle, from concept and design to manufacture. You will provide design and analysis in a multi project environment designing heavy haul lowbed trailers and transporters including pneumatic and hydraulic systems design. When you’re not designing, you’re investigating technical problems and finding solutions and responding to production and sales requests that only the engineering team can answer. Your traits You want to be part of building something great You’re driven to be successful You’re creative in design yet understand process You prioritize your workload based on commitments you set You embrace technology and seek opportunities to implement You’re enthusiastic and energetic You’re passionate about making things right You demand excellence in yourself and others Your resume 5+ years heavy haul trailer or mobile equipment design experience Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma Solid modeling and FEA experience P.Eng, C.E.T, P.Tech., preferred but not required In addition to your design responsibilities, our Senior Mechanical Designers spend time in the field supporting our customer’s heavy haul efforts, in our production facility testing your ideas to build trailers more efficiently and mentoring the junior and intermediate designers you work with every day.
