Summer Camp, Instructor, Level II Seasonal, Summer Camp Programs Full-time hours between June 22-August 28, 2020 Various Programs Camps at Appleby College provide coeducational opportunities to develop and advance skills, and to promote interactive skills among participants. For a listing of all summer programs offered, please visit Appleby College Summer Camp Programs As the Instructor, Level II, you will be responsible for directly supporting the Head Instructor within specific sports or arts area. The Instructor, II will work as part of a team to ensure a safe, productive and enjoyable experience for all campers. This position requires a high level of experience and quality leadership skills. Specific Accountabilities: Provide support to the Head Instructor in the planning of activities Actively participate in all assigned aspects of the campers’ day including activities, meal times, games etc. Maintain positive relations with Campers, parents and other staff Follow all camp procedures and policies to include Appleby’s Mutual Respect policy Participate in all required training related to Health & Safety Ensure the safety and supervision of all campers Knowledge and Skills: Applicants for this position should have a secondary school diploma and have thorough knowledge & previous experience instructing specific area (Sports, Arts or Other Programs) Applicants for this position should have a minimum of 2nd year university/college and/or Post-secondary work experience Experience working/volunteering with children in a camp setting in a leadership role Provide instruction/ run activities confidently in front of groups of campers Excellent communication skills Excellent time management and organizational skills Team oriented, motivational and creative Energetic and enthusiastic Bronze Cross and/or NLS certification in lifeguarding is an asset Coaching certifications experience for Sports Camps is an asset Workplace Requirements: Successful candidates must attend the required training sessions from May 29-31, 2020 As a condition of employment, a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening is required Valid Standard First Aid and CPR – C (certified on, or after Sept. 2018) is required Appleby College Camps and Academies provide the highest quality of instruction to campers in a fast paced and challenging work environment.
