Aon is looking for a National Leader, Power and Utilities As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting Commercial Risk, in Canada. As the National Leader, Power & Utilities you will report directly to the Executive Vice President, Specialty Practices. Your Impact as the National Leader, Power and Utilities Distinctive Client Value Directs the collaborative activity of the National Team to plan and achieve annual and long-term business objectives and initiatives across the country in line with National best practices, policies and business plans. Reviews National performance results and works with the Power Team and Branch Managers to identify, spearhead and leverage new market and client service opportunities, Identify opportunities where performance improvement can be made and lead those changes. Represents Aon within the communities across the country and in high-profile professional, business and community associations. Establishes a broad and deep combination of targeted business networking strategies and uses these networks and platforms to drive new business within ARS, to promote the Aon values, and to facilitate and create business opportunities interdependently with other Aon business units. Forecasts marketplace merger, acquisition and sale opportunities and collaborates with National Leaders in analyzing and determining actions plans to capitalize upon this potential. Provides thought leadership both externally and internally by speaking engagements, publishing articles, sales and marketing materials, brochures, and similar materials which showcase Aon’s industry-leading knowledge of risk issues and proprietary solutions. Acts as a resource to account teams across the country and elsewhere, to provide guidance, leverage relationships, assist local teams with winning and retaining business. Educates account teams, ensures Aon’s industry expertise is communicated to clients and prospects, and helps form cross-functional teams to provide the best of Aon to clients. Forms and maintains relationships with senior business leaders in the power generation industry. Operational Excellence Oversees the overall deployment of improved National operational processes leading to increased revenue and income growth. Collaborates with and supports all such national initiatives and direction. Directs the Team to effectively co-ordinate the implementation of changing business processes, systems and organizational structures in support of the National business plan. Approves all National resource allocations and acquisitions across the country to ensure their effective deployment and ultimate ROI in accordance with corporate financial objectives, in support of client service and business plan delivery. Ensures the consistent effective application of National policies and procedures as they apply to the Regional organization. You Bring Knowledge and Expertise Required Experience: Not less than five years managing large risk-managed accounts and forming and managing large, geographically diverse teams. Alternatively, a senior position managing the risk and insurance portfolio of a large corporation. A detailed knowledge of risk management, an understanding of the regulated utility environment and the ability to understand issues and recommend solutions in a holistic manner. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present and interact with senior executives. Preferred Experience: Experience working with large publicly-traded or Crown Corporation utilities or independent power producers.
