Who we are: Analog Coffee brings great things together for ever greater people. The foundation of the company was built in a garage in Calgary in 1974, so our heart, soul and culture lies within the community of Calgary. From the very beginning, we have instilled a belief to deliver the highest quality product to the community, and from this belief we have maintained a successful relationship with our people for more than 40 years. Analog cafes are the space where we showcase our brilliant single-origin coffees from farmers all over the world. We hire exceptional, passionate, coffee loving individuals who can contribute to delivering the highest quality experiences to our guests and share our same passion for growing the cafe culture throughout Calgary. Our community includes the people on our team, the farmers we work with at origin and the guests who visit us everyday. Summary A coffee and food lover, Analog Coffee Barista’s are dedicated to providing exceptional hospitality and quality products to all Analog guests and team members. They are as passionate about coffee as they are about the community they are embedded in. Collaborative, enthusiastic and energetic by nature, our Barista’s create a welcoming and memorable café experience each and every day. *Areas of Responsibility* Guest Experience Provide exceptional hospitality to Analog guests by upholding the Analog Hospitality Guiding Principles. Greet each guest with a sincere smile and maintain a positive attitude throughout the day. Make a genuine effort to get to know Analog guests by name and drink order, welcoming them each time they visit the cafe Stay up to date and knowledgeable about current Analog product offerings. Reference the Analog newsletters, attend cafe learning sessions, ask questions and discuss with team members. Inform and educate guests on product offerings, including coffee and baked goods. Offer suggestions with the goal of enhancing their overall experience. Remain knowledgeable about retail coffee and merchandise available for sale in the cafe. Answer guest questions and make suggestions based on their needs. Demonstrate a keen interest to participate in Analog community events. Responsibly represent Analog and its brand, in and outside of the cafe. Enthusiastic Team Member Enthusiastic and engaged in all cafe roles. Work collaboratively, assisting areas that require additional help, supporting the overall success of the cafe. Work quickly and efficiently while maintaining a calm demeanor during times of high volume. Promote a positive environment during times of potential stress. Proactively complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties and follow preventative maintenance guidelines. Restock all areas of the cafe as needed, including but not limited to paper products, side stands, dishes, retail and pastries. Be punctual for work shifts and flexible to changing schedules. Take initiative to improve operational efficiency and report ideas and issues to cafe leadership. Barista Skills Follow all drink recipes as instructed by Analog training and standards. Improvement recommendations are encouraged but must be approved by Analog leadership before making changes to the Analog standard. Present all beverages and food products consistently and with an attention to detail. Only serve drinks that meet or exceed the Analog quality standards for drink presentation and latte art. Frequently taste coffee to ensure quality of the dial and to continue developing a coffee palate. Actively participate in product tastings to further product knowledge and help identify any issues or deficiencies. Strive for continuous learning. Follow Analog operational policies and procedures and comply with Provincial health and safety regulations. Experience and Qualifications. You're a great fit if you have: Must love coffee! Experience in retail or hospitality or equivalent experience, café experience an asset. Experience working in a team environment. Passion for exceptional customer service and working collaboratively. Strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills. Ability to work efficiently, multi-task and learn quickly. Willing to learn and adapt to changes as new procedures and policies are implemented. Available to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; may require early mornings, weekends and evenings. Proficiency with POS systems.
