Overview: The American Enterprise Institute, a leading nonprofit public policy research organization, seeks a full-time research assistant to work with scholars in the Foreign and Defense Policy department’s Asia team. This position will primarily be responsible for providing research, writing, and editing support to scholars studying US strategy in the Asia-Pacific and Indo-Pacific security and political issues, focusing particularly on Northeast Asia (Japan, China, Korean Peninsula, and Taiwan). Other duties include developing and organizing conferences, panel discussions, and events; overseeing long-term projects and the grant proposal process; supervising department interns; and providing administrative support including scheduling and coordinating travel. This position requires excellent writing, communication, research, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in Asian studies and should be academically curious and able to manage multiple competing priorities at once.
