A leading E M contracting firm is URGENTLY looking for right candidates to fill the following position: The duties of a safety officer are to assist the proprietor of an industrial undertaking in promoting the safety and health of persons employed, including for that purpose – Job Responsibilities: Perform all duties stipulated in safety officers’ regulations, as well as, any other health, safety and environmental related duties directed by the superior, andInspecting the workplace to identify potential hazards and reporting the findings with recommendations for correction to the employer(proprietor), such: investigating accidents (with or without personal injury) and dangerous occurrences and reporting with recommendations for prevention to the employer(proprietor), and Preparing and submitting monthly reports to the employer(proprietor) in the approved form, and obtain with the employer(proprietor)'s approval after, to implement and maintain health and safety measures stipulated under the statutory requirements and also the contractual requirements, as well as, through safety training and improvement actions to enhance whole working environment safety awareness.Receiving, discussing and countersigning weekly reports submitted to him/her by safety supervisors, andAssisting in the supervision of safety supervisor. Job Requirements: Have a recognized degree or post-graduate diploma in occupational safety and health, or equivalent, and relevant experience of not less than 2 years, orHave a degree in science, engineering, building or equivalent, and a recognized certificate, diploma or higher diploma in occupational safety and health, and relevant experience of not less than 2 years, orHave a recognized certificate, diploma or higher diploma in occupational safety and health, and relevant experience of not less than 3 years, of which one year must be obtained after the academic qualification, orHave a recognized certificate in construction safety and relevant experience of not less than 3 years, of which one year must be obtained after the academic qualification.Minimum 5 years post-registration safety experience gained in the construction industry, preferably in building services / E M engineering projects.Knowledge in safety/environmental related ordinances/regulations. Good communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Good knowledge of MS Office including Chinese Word Processing Initiative, well organized, communicative and hardworking Registered Safety Officer with the Labour Department, candidates with BEAM plus experience will be an advantage.
