The Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii) inspires world-changing machine intelligence for good and for all. One of Canada’s three main institutes for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, our world-renowned researchers drive fundamental and applied research at the University of Alberta (and other academic institutions), training some of the world’s top scientific talent. Our team of Machine Learning Scientists, Educators and Advisors work collaboratively with Alberta-based businesses and organizations to build AI capacity and translate scientific advancement into industry adoption and economic impact. As an Amii Machine Learning Educator, you’ll use your exceptional content development and delivery skills to enable organizations and individuals to grow their AI literacy and gain the knowledge, skills and abilities they need to be successful in AI. You’ll work alongside a team of professional, creative and highly-skilled content experts to deliver engaging curriculum in a blended learning environment through learner-friendly products. Using your strong organization and communication skills, you’ll collaborate and coordinate with our teams in a lean working environment that is open, professional and creative. Responsibilities Assist the Education Director in assessing the educational needs of the public and targeting upskilling programs appropriately. Develop training programs and workshops to support business and technical training Deliver and facilitate engaging workshops, lectures, and full courses for a variety of audiences Provide input and content for the communications and applied teams Monitor internal educational opportunities, follow up with interns and team members to ensure education requirements have been met Qualifications Post-secondary degree in education, machine learning or related field 3-5 years experience developing and delivering curriculum Experience with and passion for designing effective learning exercises, illustrations of technical concepts, training and evaluation tools You have proven ability to translate instructional requirements described in a storyboard into an interactive and engaging training course. Comfortable speaking in public, teaching groups of various sizes, and facilitating group activities You are proficient in eLearning systems You have exceptional attention to detail. You can prioritize and meet project deadlines. You love testing out new educational tools and technologies.
