Overview: Reporting to the Project Geologist, the Field Geologist will focus on the execution of the field geological mapping program with a focus on safety, efficiency and compliance with procedures. Reporting to the Field Geologist, the Field Assistant will focus on supporting the execution of the field geological mapping program with a focus on safety, efficiency and compliance with procedures. Responsibilities: Assisting with a variety of geological activities at both the deposit- and regional-scale, geological field mapping, and prospecting Collecting and interpreting field observations utilizing the regional geology and appropriate ore deposit models Data entry for a variety of geological, geophysical, and geochemical datasets Carry out any other task required by the Senior Project Geologists Qualifications: § Field Geologist: Recently graduated from a B.Sc. or M.Sc. program in geology, geological sciences, geological engineering or earth sciences § Field Assistant: Currently enrolled in a B.Sc. or M.Sc. program in geology, geological sciences, geological engineering or earth sciences § Familiar with basic geological concepts such as rock and mineral identification, field mapping § Ability to spend long days in the field carrying a backpack with samples and equipment § Able to navigate in remote areas using compass and GPS § Strong work ethic and a positive attitude is a must § Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team § Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean record, comfortable driving 4x4 trucks § Works safely and promotes safe and environmental practices (safety training will be provided) § Ability to carry out a variety of assigned tasks in both field and office settings
