Financial Reporting Specialist Exciting vacancies exist at Corporate Office for adequately skilled Financial Reporting Specialist professionals within the Finance Division. Key Performance Outputs The successful candidates will be responsible for the preparation of ACSA group financial statements and other related external reporting requirements, and all compliance related requirements. Review the financial accounting for non-routine transactions, and the following: Conduct research and establish the impact on business brought by changes in accounting standards and/or new accounting standards. Provide input on the impact of changes in legislation. Review and approve accuracy of monthly transactional processing. Review general ledger reconciliations including management of exceptions report before month end closure. Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports including annual group financial statements. Monitor developments in accounting standards and recommend changes to group accounting policies. Manage record keeping / safekeeping of all documents relevant to the function. Manage internal control systems and the implementation of control measures to mitigate risk. Supply information to internal and external auditors in order to meet objectives and ensure audit findings are addressed effectively in area of responsibility. Draft, implement and ensure compliance to relevant statutory / legislative regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), operational standards, internal financial and accounting policies, practices and procedures Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal as well as external relationships and implement remedial actions were required to ensure achievement of organisational goals. Provide relevant and specialised technical input in the area of expertise to relevant stakeholders to ensure achievement of objectives. Technical Skills and Experience The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required: Bachelor Honours degree and CA (SA) Registration is essential 1 year management experience in Technical Accounting is essential 4 years operational experience in Financial Accounting is essential Knowledge of applicable legislation (IFRS, Taxation and Company Law) Advanced knowledge of MS office packages Systems / ERP operational knowledge is recommended. The candidate must be good at planning and organizing, and decision making. Good written and verbal communication skills are required as well as strong stakeholder management capability.
