Adyen delivers frictionless payments across online, mobile, and in-store channels. With offices across the world, Adyen serves customers including Facebook, Uber, Spotify, Casper, Bonobos and L'Oreal. Our story We were founded in 2006 by a group of entrepreneurs, including Pieter van der Does and Arnout Schuijff. The existing payments technology consisted of a patchwork of systems built on outdated infrastructure. Intending to help businesses grow, the co-founders set out to build a platform capable of meeting the rapidly evolving needs of today's fast-growing global businesses. Our founding team called the business Adyen – Surinamese for "Start over again" – and focused on building a modern infrastructure directly connected to card networks and local payment methods across the world, allowing for unified commerce. The Adyen platform enables businesses to accept payments, protect revenue, and control their finances in a single system. Our business and technical challenges are unique, we need as many different voices as possible to join us in solving them - voices like yours. We acknowledge that skills are important. After all, we care about building our products and we are committed to using the right technology at each level of the stack to achieve that. However, what matters most is who you are and what value you will add to our mission. So bring your true self at Adyen. Our reward policy consists of elements like scope of responsibilities, growth opportunities, and our company culture. The reward should be just right, but is not considered to be a motivator. Our common Reward Principles explain why we reward the way we do. We provides a unique opportunity You’ll be given autonomy, accountability, and you’ll be challenged intellectually. What you do, and how far you go, is largely up to you. This is an investment in the rest of your career, as much as it is in Adyen. We reward performance There are no role budgets, we want to see team members go above and beyond. Our equity policy allows phantom shares* to be offered to employees to enjoy Adyen’s long-term, sustainable growth. We pay in line with the companies we locally compete with for talent We see our competition as the wider group of companies we compete with for talent in a specific market or expertise. Therefore, we pay at the 75th percentile of the market. Adyen provides comprehensive total compensation packages including phantom shares* plan, relocation allowance (when applicable) and many more company benefits. Attached you will find the link to learn more about compensation at Adyen and some of the benefits. Our Social Responsibility Adyen Impact. We believe that building an ethical business isn’t optional. From investing in the Vietstar Waste Treatment project to generating solar energy in Northern Chile, we are thoroughly committed to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions. Partnering with South Pole, we conducted an organization-wide greenhouse gas audit to give us a clear understanding of the task at hand, using their expert guidance to help define our approach to offsetting. In 2019, we compensated for all emissions since the foundation of Adyen in 2006. We’re now proud to say we’re a climate neutral company. For more information on what we are doing at the local and global level, please go to https://www.adyen.com/social-responsibility. In 2020, we created Adyen Giving. We facilitate partnerships with a range of charities as chosen by our merchants, completing due diligence on all. We view the work of the charities through the lens of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework, and categorize them into three verticals: Biosphere, Society and Economy.
