The Engineering Intern (Summer) will be working throughout the facility to learn the many facets of Advanced Composites' Production, Quality and Process Engineering areas. The Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Engineering Summer Intern are: Production line overview with safety training and observation Continuous improvement project selected with review of project due at end of internship In-Process lab overview with safety training and observation Quality control project selected with review of project due at end of internship Physical properties lab overview with safety training and observation Determine what a process engineer does in compounding Advanced extrusion training with screw design principles Advanced feeder training with LIW feeder troubleshooting and feeder sizing and selection Material handling principles throughout compounding process including dilute phase, dense phase and angel hair/streamers Present project findings and share lessons learned Provide suggestions to improve our program The Physical Demands described here are those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of the Engineering Summer Intern. The Work Environment for the Engineering Summer Intern is and office and process manufacturing environment. Part of the job function is performed in an office. The noise level is usually moderate to moderately loud. The Engineering Summer Intern must have: Excellent communication skills. Microsoft Office Suite skills. High school diploma or GED.
