This position is responsible for providing technical support and problem resolution to end users by resolving or facilitating the resolution of technical issues. Responsibilities also include performing availability and performance monitoring on the UJS network and server infrastructure, and troubleshooting network and server anomalies. Working hours are 11:00pm – 7:00am, Saturday through Wednesday including some holidays; however, staffing needs may require short-term or long-term duty on the 1st or 2nd shift. Primary Duties Receives technical support calls from internal and external AOPC customers and attempts to resolve those issues using first-hand knowledge and experience, or the established automated knowledge base; escalates calls to the appropriate technical support resource for timely issue resolution as necessary. Creates and updates trouble tickets in call management system; tracks open tickets to ensure timely resolution. Attempts to resolve user reported issues by using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and Windows Remote Assistance software to remotely log in to the user’s computer to duplicate and diagnose the problem. Uses basic network troubleshooting tools such as Ping, Nslookup and Traceroute to determine network connectivity and routing of network traffic between the source and destination network hosts. Performs dispatch activities for telco vendors to remote court locations. Serves as the focal point for critical notification processes to immediately identify, assess and resolve network and server faults affecting application performance. Utilizes the EM7 monitoring application to regularly assess, review and report on AOPC and UJS system and network node performance and notifies network staff of abnormal events. Reviews and reacts to multiple screens mounted in the NOC that display data including but not limited to network status, server status, and facilities/environmental status. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree with major course work in Computer Information Systems; OR Two years of experience in technical network management. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and / or training may be considered. Additional Requirements/Preferences Satisfactory criminal background check required.
